NHL: Anaheim 3, Nashville 2 (SO)

ANAHEIM, Calif., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Viktor Fasth made three saves in the shootout and notched a victory in his first NHL start Sunday, backstopping the Anaheim Ducks to a 3-2 win over Nashville.

Fasth stopped Nashville's Martin Erat and Mike Fisher in the first two rounds, and Corey Perry gave Anaheim the advantage with a shot through the pads of Pekka Rinne.

Then on the final shot, the Swedish netminder got a piece of David Legwand's backhander and snatched it out of the air to seal the victory -- the Ducks' third in four games to start the lockout-shortened season.

Fasth turned aside 19-of-21 shots overall while Daniel Winnik and Bobby Ryan scored for Anaheim.

Legwand and Brandon Yip scored and Rinne made 20 saves for the Predators, who fell to 1-2-2 on the season.
