PORTLAND, Ore., May 27 (UPI) -- Darren Mattocks netted his first career MLS goal in the 84th minute Saturday, salvaging a 1-1 tie for Vancouver Whitecaps FC against Portland.
Mattocks -- who had just entered the game as a substitute for Camilo Sanvezzo -- fired a shot from 12 yards out off a feed from Eric Hassli that eluded Timbers goalie Troy Perkins for the equalizer.
