HOUSTON, May 15 (UPI) -- Portland's Troy Perkins made seven saves Tuesday, backstopping the Timbers to a 0-0 tie with Houston.
Perkins had to make a brilliant stop on Luiz Camargo in the 67th minute, denying the Brazilian after he had received a through-ball from Calen Carr.
Carr was also stopped in the 87th, when the Portland goalie frustrated his attempt to score off a feed from Camargo.
The Timbers (2-5-3) battled to their second straight scoreless tie.
The Dynamo (3-3-3) couldn't keep up the momentum from Saturday, when they defeated D.C. United in their first game at the new, $95 million BBVA Compass Stadium near downtown Houston.
