Martin Erat also notched a goal and an assist, and Kevin Kline and Nick Spaling each scored as Nashville won for the fourth time in five contests.

Pekka Rinne turned aside 32 shots for the winners.

The struggling Sharks, meanwhile, lost for the sixth time in seven games despite a goal and an assist each from Joe Pavelski and Patrick Marleau.

San Jose goalie Antti Niemi didn't last through the first period. He was pulled after yielding three goals on seven shots.
