ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Matt Cullen finished off an offensive outburst with two third-period goals Thursday that wrapped up the Minnesota Wild's 5-1 victory over Vancouver.
The Wild peppered Vancouver goaltender Cory Schneider with 45 shots en route to their third straight victory. The Canucks had won their previous two games.
The five goals were the most Minnesota has scored in a single game this season.
Dan Hamhuis put Vancouver ahead 1-0 with a goal 2:20 into the game and the Canucks led through the opening period, but Josh Harding blanked the Canucks the rest of the way while winning his third straight start.
Harding had beaten Detroit in back-to-back efforts, stopping 71-of-72 shots over those two games. He made 24 saves against Vancouver.
Guillaume Latendresse tied it for Minnesota 4:47 into the second period, Pierre-Marc Bouchard put the Wild in front 21 seconds later with a slap shot and Marco Scandella scored with 2:55 left in the second. Cullen's two goals in the third to give him six for the season.
