CHICAGO, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Viktor Stalberg's goal 2:18 into overtime Monday handed the Chicago Blackhawks a 5-4 victory over Nashville.
Stalberg zoomed into the right circle with Nashville defenseman Jack Hillen on his tail, but made a fake, slammed on the brakes and cut to the front of the net for the game-winning shot.
Patrick Kane collected a pair of scores and added an assist while Nick Leddy and Bryan Bickell also scored for the Central Division-leading Blackhawks, who improved to 7-2-2 to start the season.
Marian Hossa notched three assists and Corey Crawford stopped 24-of-28 shots to earn the victory.
Patric Hornqvist netted two goals and David Legwand added a marker and an assist for the Predators, who fell five points behind Chicago.
Pekka Rinne made 30 saves for Nashville.
