MLB: Baltimore 3, Tampa Bay 2

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- J.J. Hardy finished off a three-run, seventh-inning rally with a two-run single Friday, giving the Baltimore Orioles a 3-2 victory over Tampa Bay.

Evan Longoria put Tampa Bay in front with a two-run single in the first and the Rays protected the advantage until the Orioles came back in the seventh against starter David Price (12-12).

Vladimir Guerrero opened the seventh with a single and one-out walks to Mark Reynolds and Robert Andino loaded the bases. Nolan Reimold then lifted a sacrifice fly to left that brought home Guerrero and Ryan Adams reached on an infield single that again loaded the bases.

That brought up Hardy, who singled to left on a 2-2 pitch.

The Orioles had lost four of their previous five games.

Zach Britton (9-9) picked up the win, giving up two runs on four hits in six innings. He struck out six.

Price allowed only four hits and struck out 11. He set the club single-game strikeout record Sunday by fanning 14 in a 12-0 win over Toronto.
