SAN JOSE, Calif., April 15 (UPI) -- Joe Pavelski scored 14:44 into overtime Thursday, boosting the San Jose Sharks to a 3-2 win over Los Angeles and a 1-0 lead in their first-round playoff series.

The Kings coughed up the puck in the attacking zone and the Sharks' Ryan Clowe started a break on the winning play. Kyle Wellwood found Pavelski free in the right circle and the San Jose center unleashed a wrist shot that beat Jonathan Quick high to the glove side.
