MLB: Florida 4, Chicago Cubs 2

CHICAGO, May 11 (UPI) -- Ronny Paulino socked a two-run homer and Cody Ross stole home Monday to give the Florida Marlins a 4-2 decision over the Chicago Cubs.

Trailing 2-1 entering the seventh, Ted Lilly (1-3) gave up a one-out single to Dan Uggla and Paulino followed with homer that just cleared the basket in left field to give the Marlins the lead.

After the clout, Ross singled, advanced to second on a ground out and to third on a single by pinch-hitter Cameron Maybin. With Chris Coughlin batting, Maybin started to steal second, drawing a throw to first from Lilly, but in the meantime Ross took off from third and stole home, beating the throw from first baseman Derrek Lee.

Ross ended the game 2-for-4 with two steals. Marlins starter Nate Robertson (3-3) surrendered two runs in six innings for the win.

Lilly pitched well in defeat, taking a no-hitter into the sixth, but the Cubs lost for the sixth time in seven games.
