KANSAS CITY, Mo., April 8 (UPI) -- Willie Bloomquist raced home on a fielding error by second baseman Scott Sizemore in the 11th inning Wednesday, giving Kansas City a 3-2 win over Detroit.

The Tigers took a 2-1 lead in the top half of the 11th on a single by Jose Guillen but Alberto Callaspo opened the bottom half of the inning with a homer off Detroit closer Jose Valverde.

Billy Butler followed with a single and Bloomquist came in to run for him. Rick Ankiel then blasted a double to right and Bloomquist was about to stop at third base when Sizemore let the relay throw skip away.

Bloomquist came in with the run that made a winner out of Kyle Farnsworth, who picked up the victory despite allowing the go-ahead run in the 11th.
