NHL: San Jose 5, Minnesota 2

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Patrick Marleau and rookie Jason Demers each scored a pair of goals Saturday to power San Jose over the Minnesota Wild 5-2.

The Sharks scored four times on seven power plays en route to their sixth win in their last seven games.

Evgeni Nabokov turned in 36 saves and Joe Pavelski scored the other San Jose goal.

Minnesota's power play was productive as well. Cal Clutterbuck and Owen Nolan each scored with the man advantage and had the Wild ahead 2-1 until Demers tied the contest 2-2 early in the second period.

Demers' score started a four-goal streak for the Sharks that included Marleau's second goal and the only even-handed score of the game.

Josh Harding faced 36 shots in goal for the Wild and gave up all five San Jose goals. The loss squelched Minnesota's three-game losing streak.
