MLB: Chicago White Sox 7, Kansas City 4

KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 31 (UPI) -- Chris Getz and Josh Fields knocked in two runs each Sunday to lead the Chicago White Sox to a 7-4 victory against the Kansas City Royals.

It gave Chicago a four-game sweep.

The lone hit for Getz was a one-out, two-run single in the ninth inning that gave Chicago a 6-4 lead. Fields hit a two-run single in the fourth.

Scott Podsednik had two runs, three hits and one RBI. Jim Thome also had an RBI.

Jermaine Dye drove in a run, while A.J. Pierzynski had two runs and three hits for the White Sox, who have won four consecutive series since being swept in four games by Toronto from May 15-18.

The winner was reliever Matt Thornton (2-1).

Closer Bob Jenks earned his 12th save.

Kansas City got two RBI from David DeJesus and one each from two others.

Miguel Olivo had two hits for the Royals, who have lost five of six.

The losing pitcher was reliever John Bale (0-1).
