
EDMONTON, Alberta, Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Chicago used a five-goal second period punctuated by Troy Brouwer's two scores Tuesday to bury Edmonton 9-2 for their fifth straight win.
Brian Campbell, Kris Versteeg and Ben Eager accounted for the Blackhawks' other second-period goals. Colin Fraser, Patrick Kane, Brian Campbell and Craig Adams also scored.
Chicago got four of its goals on five power-play opportunities.
Nikolai Khabibulin missed only two of the 33 shots he faced in the nets for Chicago.
The Oilers' goals came from Shawn Horcoff and Marc Pouliot.
Edmonton goalie Mathieu Garon was pulled midway through the second period after giving up five goals on 21 shots. Dwayne Roloson made 19 saves in relief.
The Oilers have now lost two of three after winning three straight.
