Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Devin Setoguchi, Tomas Plihal and Joe Pavelski scored a goal each Saturday night in the San Jose Sharks' 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings.
Alexander Frolov scored on the power play at 6:34 of the first period to put the Kings up 1-0 but then San Jose scored three unanswered goals. Plihal's short-handed goal gave San Jose the lead late in the second period.
Marc-Edouard Vlasic had two assists and Sharks' goalie Evgeni Nabokov stopped 12 of just 13 shots.
Goaltender Jason LaBarbera made 38 saves on 41 shots for LA in the front end of a home-and-home holiday weekend series.
The loss blemished the debut of Los Angeles Coach Terry Murray.
