SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- Greg Maddux earned his 355th big league career victory Saturday while helping the LA Dodgers record a 2-1 win over the San Francisco Giants.

Maddux (8-13) gave up two hits in six innings. The only run he surrendered came on Randy Winn's solo homer in the bottom of the fourth.

The victory puts Maddux one ahead of seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens.

Blake DeWitt had three hits and two RBI, including a third-inning solo homer. Rafael Furcal had two hits and five others one for the NL West champion Dodgers, who stopped a two-game skid.

Takashi Saito earned his 18th save this season with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Losing pitcher Matt Cain (8-14) surrendered two earned runs and eight hits in seven innings with four walks and six strikeouts for the Giants, who have lost four of their last five games.
