NEW YORK, June 11 (UPI) -- The Arizona Diamondbacks, buoyed by four homers, rallied to a 9-5 win over the New York Mets Tuesday in a game interrupted for an hour by rain.
Chris Snyder's solo home run in the top of the eighth inning put the D-backs in front for good and eventually made a winner of Chad Qualls (1-5), who threw a scoreless seventh.
Arizona also got two-run homers from Orlando Hudson and Stephen Drew, and a solo shot from Conor Jackson.
Arizona starter Micah Owings gave up five runs -- four earned -- on eight hits and three walks over 4 1/3 innings.
Mets New York starter John Maine yielded three runs on five hits and three walks in five innings of work. He struck out seven. Joe Smith (0-1) took the loss after Snyder homered off him.
David Wright hit a two-run homer for the Mets, losers of five in a row. Carlos Beltran, Luis Castillo and Jose Reyes each had two hits, and Moises Alou knocked in two runs.
