Sorenstam up by 3 at Michelob Ultra Open

WILLIAMSBURG, Va., May 10 (UPI) -- Annika Sorenstam posted a 2-under 69 Saturday to hold a three-stroke lead after three rounds of the LPGA's Michelob Ultra Open.

The internationally second-ranked Swede stood at 14-under 199 through 54 holes.

Lorena Ochoa, the No. 1 player for the past 13 months, had four bogeys in a five-hole stretch and finished the round with a 3-over 74, to drop eight shots off Sorenstam's lead at 6-under 207.

Jeong Jang (69) and was in second place at 11-under 202 and Christina Kim (66) another shot back at 10-under 203.

There were five other players between Ochoa and Sorenstam on the leader board at the end of Saturday's round. The two have combined for 43 wins on the LPGA Tour since the 2004 Michelob Ultra Open, with Ochoa edging Sorenstam 22-21 during that time.

The Mexican star won each of the four previous tournaments where they both appeared this season, with Sorenstam's two victories coming during off-weeks for Ochoa.

Sorenstam's only bogey Saturday came on her final hole and she still broke the tournament's 54-hole record by one shot.
