NHL: San Jose 2, Nashville 1

NASHVILLE, March 11 (UPI) -- Evgeni Nabokov stopped 27 shots Tuesday in a 2-1 San Jose victory over Nashville that moved the Sharks into first place in the Pacific Division.

Joe Pavelski and Milan Michalek each scored for the Sharks, who extended their winning streak to 10 games and took a one-point lead over idle Dallas for first place in the Pacific.

San Jose trails Detroit by eight points for first overall in the league and in the Western Conference.

Jason Arnott scored the lone goal for Nashville. Dan Ellis stopped 40 shots for the Predators, who have lost their last two games.

Nashville is two points behind Vancouver for the final playoff spot in the NHL Western Conference.
