NBA: San Antonio 98, New Orleans 89

SAN ANTONIO, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Manu Ginobili scored 27 points Saturday when the San Antonio Spurs topped the New Orleans Hornets 98-89.

A 24-14 second quarter gave San Antonio a 50-35 bulge at halftime but New Orleans tied it 78-78 after Mike James' jumper with 7:05 left in the game. San Antonio then closed with a 20-11 spurt.

Tim Duncan had 25 points with 11 rebounds and Tony Parker added 10 points and four assists for the Spurs, who have won five in a row and have beaten New Orleans in 13 of the last 15 meetings between the teams.

Chris Paul's 27 points, four rebounds and four assists led New Orleans. David West had 16 points, six rebounds and four assists and Peja Stojakovic scored 11 with four rebounds for the Hornets, who have lost two in a row on the heels of a five-game winning streak.
