
ANTWERP, Belgium, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Sixth-seeded Hungarian Agnes Szavay was among the second-day losers Tuesday at the $600,000 Diamond Games tennis tournament.
Szavay, runner-up at the Paris Indoors, was ousted by Russian qualifier Alisa Kleybanova 6-2, 6-3.
Slovakian Dominika Cibulkova beat Israeli Tzipora Obziler 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, and American Julie Ditty defeated Ukrainian Kateryna Bondarenko 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
In other first-round action, Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova beat Luxembourg's Anne Kremer 6-1, 6-1; Japan's Ai Sugiyama beat Belgian Caroline Maes 7-5, 6-3; and Swede Sofia Arvidsson beat American Meilen Tu 6-1, 6-2.
Pironkova has a second-round match against world No. 1 star Justine Henin of Belgium and Arvidsson will play second-seeded Russian Anna Chakvetadze, last week's Paris Indoors champion.
Italian Karin Knapp won her second match in two days Tuesday over Russian Yaroslava Shvedova 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 to reach the quarterfinals.
