NBA: New Orleans 93, Denver 88

DENVER, Nov. 4 (UPI) -- David West finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds Sunday night, as the New Orleans Hornets beat Denver, 93-88.

Chris Paul had 15 points, eight rebounds and 11 assists, and Tyson Chandler finished with 12 points and 17 boards for the Hornets, who opened their season with three straight victories for a second consecutive year.

Allen Iverson had 23 points and eight assists and Carmelo Anthony scored 20 for the Nuggets, who lost for the first time in three games.

The Hornets led by 11 in the fourth quarter before the Nuggets put on a late rally to pull within 90-88 with less than a minute left to play.
