LYON, France, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Andy Roddick, playing for the first time in a month, was ousted from the Lyon Grand Prix Wednesday by Fabrice Santoro.
Roddick had been out of action with a knee injury and he returned to the circuit at a tournament where he won two years ago. But Santoro, the champion here in 1997, eliminated Roddick, 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 6-4.

Defending champion and No. 4 seed Richard Gasquet was an opening-round winner as he dispatched Christophe Rochus, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3.
Gasquet will next meet Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
In second-round action, Diego Hartfield was a 6-4, 6-3 winner over Juan Monaco and Marc Gicquel eliminated Benjamin Becker, 6-3, 6-3.
