NHL: Vancouver 4, Edmonton 1

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Daniel Sedin scored two second-period goals during a 2:18 span Saturday night, leading the Vancouver Canucks to a 4-1 win over Edmonton.

Henrik Sedin had three assists, and Brendan Morrison and Taylor Pyatt each scored a goal for the Canucks, who won for the third time in their last four games. Roberto Luongo stopped 27 shots for Vancouver.

Andrew Cogliano scored a goal and Dwayne Roloson made 18 saves for the Oilers, who lost their fourth straight game following two consecutive wins to open the season.

The Canucks opened the scoring when Morrison put the puck in the net late in the first period. Daniel Sedin scored what turned out to be the decisive goal with seven seconds left in the second.
