Top two seeds out at Romanian Open

BUCHAREST, Romania, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Tournament top seeds Nicolas Almagro and Filippo Volandri are both out after first-round matches at the $400,000 Romanian Open clay-court tennis event.

Almagro, the No. 1 seed, won his first set but was behind 1-5 in the second when he said he couldn't continue because of an elbow injury. That decision allowed Simone Bolelli to advance to the second round.
