DETROIT, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Placido Polanco had three hits and four RBI Saturday night to lead the Detroit Tigers past Seattle, 12-6, for their fourth straight victory.
Ivan Rodriguez had four hits, one a solo homer in the eighth, and two RBI. Timo Perez had three hits and two RBI.
Brandon Inge hit a two-run homer in the sixth and scored twice, while Curtis Granderson had three runs and two hits, as the Tigers put together their first four-game winning streak in nearly two months.
The winning pitcher was reliever Zach Miner (3-3).
Seattle’s Adrian Beltre had two hits, one a solo homer in the third, and two RBI. Three Seattle players had one RBI each, while a run scored on Inge’s first-inning fielding error.
Beltre and Kenji Johjima had two hits apiece for the struggling Mariners, who have lost four in a row and 13 of 14 overall.
The losing pitcher was starter Jeff Weaver (6-12).
