GLENDALE, Ariz., Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Nate Kaeding's 37-yard field goal with six seconds left Saturday night handed the San Diego Chargers a 33-31 victory over Arizona in an NFL exhibition game.
The Cardinals had gone ahead, 31-30, on a five-yard TD catch by Matt Trannon with 1:12 to go -- but Billy Volek drove the Chargers within striking distance for Kaeding to kick the game winner.
Philip Rivers went 20-for-29 with 282 yards and two touchdowns, and Vincent Jackson caught four passes for 92 yards and two TDs for the Chargers (2-1).
Matt Leinart went 10-for-16 for 196 yards and one TD. Anquan Boldin caught five passes for 143 yards and one TD for the Cardinals (0-3).
Neil Rackers kicked a 50-yard field goal for Arizona less than a minute into the game.
