MLB: N.Y. Yankees 17, Tampa Bay 5 (Game 2)

NEW YORK, July 21 (UPI) -- Alex Rodriguez hit his 33rd homer and had four RBI Saturday night as the New York Yankees beat Tampa Bay, 17-5, in the night game of a twin bill.

The Yankees completed a sweep of a day/night doubleheader after taking the earlier game, 7-3.

Rodriguez's homer was the 497th of his career. His four RBI gave him 96 so far this season.

Johnny Damon drove in four runs scored three times for the Yankees, who had 20 hits while getting their seventh win in nine games. Bobby Abreu had three RBI and three runs scored for New York.

Yankees starter Matt DeSalvo gave up seven hits and four runs in 4 2/3 innings. Luis Vizcaino (8-2) pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to earn his second win of the day.

J.P. Howell (1-4) allowed 10 hits and seven runs in five innings for the Devil Rays.

Josh Wilson drove in three runs for Tampa Bay and B.J. Upton drove in two.
