ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., July 17 (UPI) -- Ty Wigginton went 4-for-4 for the second straight game as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays downed the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 8-3 Tuesday.
Wigginton, who also had two RBI, tied a club record with eight consecutive hits. He tied Aubrey Huff, who had eight straight hits for the Devil Rays Sept. 22-24, 2004.

Carlos Pena and Josh Wilson also drove in two runs apiece for Tampa Bay, which won for just the third time in its last 19 games.
James Shields (8-5) allowed seven hits and two runs in seven innings.
Jose Molina had a two-run single and Brandon Wood added a run-scoring single for the Angels. Ervin Santana (5-11) allowed seven runs and 14 hits in six innings.
