CLEVELAND, June 3 (UPI) -- Jeremy Bonderman allowed two earned runs and only four hits in 6 2/3 innings Sunday afternoon, as the Detroit Tigers routed Cleveland, 9-2.
The game was tied, 2-2 after the first inning, but Detroit scored the game's final seven runs.
Gary Sheffield had a two-run homer among three runs and two hits; Marcus Thames and Sean Casey also had two RBI; Craig Monroe, Neifi Perez and Curtis Granderson all drove in one run; Monroe and Granderson had two hits each; and Ivan Rodriguez had two runs and two hits for the Tigers -- who won for only the third time in their last 10 games.
Bonderman (5-0) walked two and struck out six.
Victor Martinez hit a two-run homer, and had two of the seven hits for the Indians, who lost the final two games of the three-game set.
Loser Jeremy Sowers (1-6) surrendered five earned runs and seven hits in four innings.
