NBA: Detroit 95, Chicago 69

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 5 (UPI) -- Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton had 20 points each Saturday as the Detroit Pistons beat Chicago, 95-69, in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal.

The Pistons -- who had five starters in double figures in each game of their first-round sweep of Orlando -- settled for four in double figures Saturday. Rasheed Wallace and Tayshaun Prince each added 13, while center Chris Webber had five.

Ben Gordon, who came into the game averaging 25.5 points in the playoffs, was limited to seven on 2-of-9 shooting from the field. The Bulls, coming off a sweep of defending NBA champion Miami, made only 32.9 percent of their shots.

Luol Deng had 18 points and eight rebounds, and Kirk Hinrich scored 15 points for the Bulls.
