NBA: New Orleans 92, New York 90

NEW YORK, March 17 (UPI) -- David West sank a go-ahead jump shot with 55 seconds remaining Friday night as New Orleans came back to beat the New York Knicks, 92-90.

To get its improbable victory, New Orleans bounced back from a 43-25 deficit midway through the second quarter.

Its deficit dwindled to just 54-48 by halftime.

Chris Paul led New Orleans with 20 points, five rebounds, and eight assists.

West negated eight personal turnovers to compile 18 points and 12 rebounds; and Rasual Butler scored 17 points for the Hornets, who snapped a six-game losing streak.

Steve Francis, who missed a potential game-winning three-pointer, had 21 points and 10 assists to lead New York.

Channing Frye had 20 points and seven rebounds; and Eddy Curry added 18 points and six rebounds for the Knicks, who have lost two straight at Madison Square Garden after winning seven in a row.
