Mickelson, Harrington tied at Riviera

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Phil Mickelson is tied with Padraig Harrington through two rounds of the PGA's Nissan Open Golf Tournament at Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Mickelson, who is gunning for his second straight title, rallied from a three-shot deficit Friday at the Riviera golf course to shoot 6-under 65.

He won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am last week.

Harrington, the first-day leader, shot 3-under 68 Friday.

Mickelson and Harrington are tied at 11-under 131 through 36 holes.

Charles Howell III (65) is third at 8-under 134. Pat Perez (69), Sergio Garcia (68), David Howell (68) and Robert Allenby (66) are tied for fourth at 3-under 135.

"It's always hard to follow up a round of 63," Harrington said. "Anything in the 60s was really the goal today. I knew going out there I would be a little bit erratic."

"It was important to get at least birdie the 17th. I thought it was a birdie hole," said Mickelson.
