NHL: Vancouver 6, Calgary 5 (OT)

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Sami Salo scored off a feed from Mattias Ohlund with 2:14 left in overtime Wednesday night as the Vancouver Canucks beat Calgary, 6-5.

Daniel Sedin had a goal and two assists and Matt Cooke had a goal and one helper for the Canucks, who won their second straight game. Roberto Luongo made 31 saves for Vancouver.

Kristian Huselius had two goals and Daymond Langkow had a goal and an assist for the Flames, who lost their third straight and their four out of five. Miikka Kiprusoff had just 18 saves for Calgary.

The Canucks looked like they were taking control early, getting two unanswered goals in the first period, but Calgary got even at 2-2 in the second.

Vancouver got the lead back and took a 4-2 lead into the second intermission, but Calgary tied it at 4-4 with two quick goals early in the third -- and then went up by one goal with 4:47 left to play.

Ryan Kesler scored a little more than a minute later to tie it at 5-5 and create overtime.

Calgary was 1-for-6 on the power. Vancouver scored once in four extra-man chances.
