NHL: Toronto 6, Boston 4

BOSTON, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Darcy Tucker, Michael Peca and Bryan McCabe scored first-period goals Thursday night, and Toronto stopped a late Boston rally to beat the Bruins, 6-4.

Later, Nik Antropov scored twice and Alexei Ponikarovsky scored once. Ponikarovsky -- whose goal at 6:38 of the second period turned out to be the game-winner -- also had two assists, and goalies Andrew Raycroft and Jean-Sebastien Aubin combined to allow four goals on 37 shots for the Maple Leafs, who have won three straight and six of their last seven games.

Raycroft, a former Bruin, had to leave the contest in the second period because of an injury.

Marco Sturm, Marc Savard, P.J. Axelsson and Wayne Primeau scored goals for Boston. Patrice Bergeron and Brad Boyes each had two assists, while goaltenders Tim Thomas and Brian Finley gave up six goals on 37 shots for the Bruins, who have dropped three of their last four games.
