CHICAGO, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Chicago bolted out to a 41-0 halftime lead Sunday afternoon and ripped San Francisco, 41-10.
The game was decided early as Chicago held a 24-0 lead by the end of the first quarter.
That point first quarter point total set a franchise record.
Rex Grossman completed 23 of 29 passes for 252 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions; Thomas Jones rushed a touchdown on 23 carries for 111 yards; Desmond Clark scored twice on six catches for 86 yards; Muhsin Muhammad added a touchdown catch; and Cedric Benson ran for a score for the Bears (7-0), who have won their first seven games to open a season for the first time since 1985.
Alex Smith was 16-of-26 for 146 yards, one touchdown, and one interception; Frank Gore gained 111 yards on 12 attempts; and Antonio Bryant caught a touchdown pass for the 49ers (2-5), who have lost four of their last five games.
