NEW YORK, July 15 (UPI) -- Derek Jeter and Bernie Williams each knocked in three runs Saturday as the New York Yankees crushed the Chicago White Sox, 14-3 at Yankee Stadium.

Andy Phillips had a two-run homer and four RBI and Johnny Damon scored three runs as New York won for the sixth time in seven games. Mike Mussina struck out five and walked one to improve to 11-3.

The resurgent Yankees try for the sweep of the defending World Series champions Sunday afternoon sending Jaret Wright to the mound against hard-throwing Freddy Garcia.

Sox slugger Jim Thome went 3-for-3 and hit his 31st home run of the season for the Sox, who have lost four of their last five games. Sox ace Mark Buehrle (9-7) was chased in the fourth inning after giving up eight runs on eight hits.
