Federer advances in Paris

PARIS, May 31 (UPI) -- After two rain delays on Wednesday, world No.1 Roger Federer beat Alejandro Falla of Colombia, 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 in the second round of the French Open.

"It's not easy, you know, to come on and off. Conditions are really slow and wet and everything," said the top-seeded Federer, a seven-time Grand Slam champion, who struggled to win his first-round match against little-known Diego Hartfield on Sunday. "The match was OK. I sort of played really well in the first set. After that it was on and off. That was I think normal with the rain."
