NBA: Memphis 96, Charlotte 88

CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 13 (UPI) -- Eddie Jones scored a team-best 16 points Wednesday night as Memphis escaped with a 96-88 win over the Charlotte Bobcats.

In a big effort on both ends, Jones also had three rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocked shots.

Chucky Atkins, Pau Gasol and Mike Miller all scored 15 points; and Lorenzen Wright added 12 points, six rebounds and two steals the Grizzlies (46-33), who have won five of their last six games. Memphis still leads the Los Angles Clippers by 1/2 game for the fifth seed in the Western Conference playoff race.

Gerald Wallace had 17 points and nine rebounds; Raymond Felton had 14 points and 13 assists for his 15th straight game in double figures; Matt Carroll scored 14 points; and Primoz Brezec added 13 and nine rebounds for the lowly Bobcats (22-56).

Memphis is one of six teams that has never lost to Charlotte.
