NFL: Tampa Bay 36, Washington 35

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Mike Alstott scored two touchdowns and converted a two-point conversion with under a minute left in the game Sunday as Tampa Bay beat Washington, 36-35.

Just before Alstott's game-winning conversion, the Redskins blocked an extra-point kick but were called for an off-side penalty, after which the Buccaneers went for two.

Chris Simms was 15-of-27 passing for 279 yards, three scores and no interceptions. Joey Galloway made seven receptions for 131 yards and a score, and Edell Shepherd added three catches for 87 yards and one touchdown as Tampa Bay (6-3) broke a two-game losing streak.

Mark Brunell went 23-of-35 for 226 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for Washington. Clinton Portis rushed for 144 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries; Santana Moss made four catches for 79 yards; and Ladell Betts, who scored twice, added a 94 yard kickoff return for a score for the Redskins (5-4).
