Pettersson wins the Chrysler Championship

PALM HARBOR, Fla., Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Carl Pettersson won the Chrysler Championship Sunday at Palm Harbor, Fla., by one shot over Chad Campbell.

Pettersson shot only an even-par 71 over the last 18 holes but still picked up his first PGA Tour victory. He ended at 9-under-par 275.

"I don't really know what to say right now," the awe-struck Pettersson admitted after the win, which was good for $954,000. "It feels fantastic. It hasn't quite sunk in yet."

Campbell's runner-up finish was worth $572,400. He came up short despite three birdies in his final five holes to give him a 4-under 67 on Sunday to end at 8-under-par 276.

Hidemichi Tanaka, Steve Lowery and Stewart Cink were among the five players at 5-under 279.

Sean O'Hair (69), Jeff Brehaut (72) and Daniel Chopra (73) shared 10th place at 4-under 280. Bernhard Langer was alone at 3-under 281, which was good for 13th place.
