NHL: Nashville 3, San Jose 2

NASHVILLE, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Scott Hartnell scored the go-ahead goal with 4:13 left Wednesday night as Nashville beat the San Jose Sharks, 3-2.

Paul Kariya scored his first goal as a Predator, Scott Walker added a goal and Tomas Vokoun made 22 saves for Nashville (1-0), which now is 3-4 in season openers.

Patrick Marleau and Nils Ekman each scored and Evgeni Nabokov stopped 22-of-25 shots for San Jose, which is now 2-10-2 in season openers.
