MLB: Kansas City 5, Minnesota 0

MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- The Kansas City Royals posted a 5-0 victory Monday over the Minnesota Twins.

J.P. Howell worked five shutout innings and Angel Berroa homered for the Royals. Howell (3-5) allowed three walks with seven strikeouts.

Berroa's home run leading off the third inning opened the scoring. The Royals then tacked on three more runs in the fourth for a 4-0 lead,

Brent Abernathy, Joe Mauer and Michael Cuddyer each had a hit for the Twins, who have lost four in a row and seven of their last nine games. Scott Baker (2-3) took the loss after allowing all five runs on six hits in five innings.
