MLB: Baltimore 10, Texas 5

ARLINGTON, Texas, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Jay Gibbons and Brian Roberts each homered Friday night as Baltimore ripped the Texas Rangers, 10-5.

Roberts led the Orioles with three hits and drove in two runs, Gibbons had three RBI and Sammy Sosa and Luis Matos had two each giving the Orioles their second win in a row under interim manager Sam Perlozzo.

Winner Bruce Chen raised his mark to 8-6. Over six innings, he yielded only two runs and five hits with three walks and four strikeouts.

Mark Teixeira, Hank Blalock, Alfonso Soriano and Mark DeRosa each homered to account for all of the Rangers' runs.

Losing pitcher C.J. Wilson sank to 0-4. He gave up eight runs and nine hits in 2 2/3 innings. Wilson walked two and did not fan a batter.

It was only Baltimore's fourth win in its last 20 games.
