MLB: Detroit 8, San Francisco 2

DETROIT, June 18 (UPI) -- Brandon Inge homered and doubled Saturday night to power the Detroit Tigers past San Francisco, 8-2.

Winning pitcher Jason Johnson raised his record to 5-5. In eight innings, Johnson allowed two runs and nine hits with three walks and four strikeouts.

Inge went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored, while Ivan Rodriguez and Omar Infante each added three hits for Detroit, which has won four of its last five.

J.T. Snow had three hits for the Giants, who had their three-game winning streak snapped.

Loser Kirk Rueter fell to 2-6. He was tagged for 11 hits and six earned runs in four innings.
