MLB: Philadelphia 3, Atlanta 2 (10 inn.)

PHILADELPHIA, May 28 (UPI) -- Tomas Perez tied the game in the eighth with a double and belted a one-out homer in the 10th Friday night to lift Philadelphia past Atlanta, 3-2.

Filling in at first base for Jim Thome, who missed the game with tendinitis in his right index finger, Perez helped Philadelphia rebound from a 2-0 deficit.

After Kevin Gryboski walked Pat Burrell with the bases loaded in the seventh to force in a run, Perez drew the Phillies even in the eighth with a double to right that brought home Chase Utley.

Against Antonio Alfonseca (5-1) with one out in the 10th, Perez deposited a 2-1 offering just over the right field wall for his fourth homer of the season.

Reliever Tim Worrell (1-1) picked up the win with two scoreless innings.

Atlanta left fielder Chipper Jones left the game in the first inning after being hit by a pitch in the left quadricep.
