Superstars share Nabisco lead

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif., March 30 (UPI) -- Karrie Webb of Australia recorded the best round of the week Saturday, a 5-under-par 67 that forged a tie with Swedes Annika Sorenstam and Liselotte Neumann through three rounds of the Kraft Nabisco Championship.

A two-time LPGA Tour Player of the Year, Webb had six birdies and a bogey at the Rancho Mirage Country Club to erase a six-shot deficit and jump from a tie for ninth.

Webb has a penchant for playing well in big tournaments, winning five majors among 26 tour titles. Last season, her three victories came at a pair of majors and the Tour Championship.

With Saturday's round, Webb set up a marquee final pairing with Sorenstam, the defending champion and Player of the Year who has won 14 times since the start of 2000 and is seeking her fourth major crown. She shot a 71 on Saturday.

Sorenstam began the day two shots behind Neumann, who relinquished the lead by playing the first 10 holes in 3-over. But she finished a 73 with birdies at Nos. 16 and 18.

It was not just a three-woman tournament.

The co-leaders were at 4-under 212, a shot better than Rosie Jones and Becky Iverson. Dorothy Delasin and Cristie Kerr were at 214 with Lorie Kane of Canada, amateur Lorena Ochoa of Mexico and Vicki Goetze-Ackerman another stroke back.

Korean star Se Ri Pak was one of four players at even-par 216.
