Dark Reading offers database security site

SAN FRANCISCO, July 20 (UPI) -- U.S. company Guardium is sponsoring Dark Reading's launch of a Web site to provide information technology professionals with database security support services.

Dark Reading, an Internet-based information portal focused on IT security, announced the launch of its new Database Security Tech Center.

Dark Reading says the new Database Security Tech Center is designed to provide IT professionals with information on practices to ensure sensitive data in the private and government sectors remains protected from cyber threats.

"The Database Security Tech Center focuses specifically on database vulnerabilities, issues and defenses. ... We're committed to examining the reasons why databases are breached, uncovering the common mistakes many security and database administrators make, reviewing the latest technologies for defending the database against internal and external attacks, and analyzing the trends and regulations that shape database security," Tim Wilson, Dark Reading editor, said in a statement.
