Harris has successful test of CDL Hawklink

MELBOURNE, Fla., May 1 (UPI) -- U.S. company Harris Corp. announced the successful testing of its Common Data Link for the MH-60R Light Airborne Multi-Purpose System helicopter.

Harris says its Ku-band CDL Hawklink high-speed, digital data system successfully completed recent tests with the U.S. Navy marking a milestone in the development of the technology.

Officials say the CDL Hawklink, designed to support the Navy's MH-60R Light Airborne Multi-Purpose System helicopter communication capabilities, successfully completed flight and ground testing.

"This key milestone in the multi-year CDL Hawklink effort validates the link's advanced functionality as well as its ability to work with legacy sensor interfaces," Wes Covell, Harris Defense Programs president, said in a statement.
