Thieves steal 200 pumpkins from New Jersey farm

WAYNE, N.J., Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Approximately 200 pumpkins were stolen from a farm in New Jersey on Tuesday night, according to local authorities.

Surveillance cameras captured footage of a van pulling up to the Farms View Roadstand multiple times throughout the night to complete the theft, the owner's son, Todd Kuehm, told NBC New York.

The theft appeared to have been carried out by four young men, who made three separate visits to the farm.

"I pulled in and half my display was gone," Kuehm told News 12.

The total crop was estimated to be worth more than $2,000 dollars, according to the farm's owner.

"This is not funny at all. This is blatant thievery," Kuehm said. "This is not a prank. A prank is when everyone laughs about it. I'm not laughing."

The family is working with police to identify and locate the thieves and is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
