Man filming flight of catapulted flaming pumpkin nearly struck by fire

PERU TOWNSHIP, Ohio, Oct. 19 (UPI) -- A man filming the flight of a flaming pumpkin launched from a giant catapult captured the moment he narrowly evaded being set aflame.

A video filmed Saturday in Ohio shows the man's perspective as he stands a distance away from the catapult and films the flight of its payload, a pumpkin that had been set on fire.

The flaming pumpkin lands near the man and spits flames that nearly ignite the man's clothes.

The filmer said the catapult was built by an engineer friend who uses it for annual events.

"He has had it for a few years, and every October he has a clam bake/low country boil and flaming pumpkin launch party. It's always a great time!" the man wrote online.
